Resources - Confronting the Culture of Violence
Some people today are scared. They fear being the victim of violence. They fear
widespread unrest as a new millennium begins. They fear shortages of food and
water due to the Y2K computer problem.
Through its Social Concerns Task Group IPCUM wants to help churches in Indiana
learn how to function well in this time of societal regression. Church members
need help understanding a different way of being, a way to be a non-anxious
presence when some people around them are reacting violently. We want to address
the question, "what does the Church say to a world that is reactive and even
scared?" We want to help church members act responsibly, with maturity and
integrity.
Listed below are videos and publications about non-violence. Also listed are
networks and agencies you can contact to get more directly involved.
